BADEA PROJECT TO START SOON AT FOURAH BAY COLLEGE
The long awaited project for the rehabilitation of Fourah Bay College would start in August, 2016. The project is one to be keenly followed and monitored by the Chancellor of the University of Sierra Leone, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
The president is quoted as saying that he is expecting an excellent performance from contractors tasked with the responsibility to rehabilitate Fourah Bay College. Speaking at State House in Freetown, during the signing of the contract for the commencement of the project, President Koroma said that the students have waited for a long time for the start of the rehabilitation exercise at Fourah Bay College. The president said that the rehabilitation would enhance an enabling learning environment for members of staff and students, adding that the project is an example of his government’s effort in promoting quality education in the country. He said that the project Manager, Contractor and Consultants should be committed in completing the entire rehabilitation exercise on time.
President Koroma said that he would monitor the entire rehabilitation exercise and that he is looking forward to be receiving frequent updates from the project manager.The project for the rehabilitation of Fourah Bay College is said to be worth around thirty seven million dollars and it is a joint funded project by the Arab Bank for African Development and the Government of Sierra Leone. The project among other things is targeting to renovate all of the old structures of the college plus the putting up of new ones. The engineering faculty would also be upgrade under this project.
